Employment Opportunity - Club Development Lead
The Club Development Lead will work with clubs, Leagues and association volunteers from AFL Victoria affiliated competitions to drive capacity building of volunteerism and assist them in performing key duties whilst building self-sufficiency in clubs and associations.

Purpose – why this role is important
The role of the Club Development Lead is to lead volunteers (committees and boards) across all AFL Victoria affiliated Community Clubs. The Club Development Lead will work with clubs, Leagues and association volunteers from AFL Victoria affiliated competitions to drive capacity building of volunteerism and assist them in performing key duties whilst building self-sufficiency in clubs and associations.

Day in the life – what you will be responsible for
• Lead and deliver support initiatives that promote good governance in clubs whilst minimising volunteer strain
• Promote and drive self-sufficiency and capacity in clubs and associations by promoting resources such as “AFL Club Help”
• Engage volunteers with education and compliance programs by coordinating seminars and workshops (programs may include Safeguarding Children, Concussion, Social Media usage, Respect and Responsibility, Racial Vilification and Inclusion and Cultural Awareness programs)
• Drive clubs in identifying and registering a club volunteer coordinator in PlayHQ
• Increase awareness and applications of AFL Victoria’s various grant opportunities, including the Strategic Community Investment Fund (SCIF)
• Create reward and recognition opportunities for volunteerism
• Work collaboratively with AFL Victoria, country regions and Leagues to:
• Identify and drive best practice support for volunteers
• Attend, and participant in, club development workshops delivered by AFL Victoria
• Work collaboratively with relevant country regions to:
• Manage the administrative tasks associated with the delivery of regional programs and workshops, i.e., coaching accreditation, governance, strategic planning, mental health, etc. for clubs
• Lead clubs and associations with volunteer recruitment and retention
• Oversee the delivery of AFL Victoria commercial partnered themed rounds, i.e., TAC, Worksafe, Umpiring etc.

Must haves – what’s needed to help you be successful
Core competencies
• Understanding of the Volunteer capacities of community clubs
• Knowledge and understanding of community football in country Victoria
Mandatory
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with high level of stakeholder 
management skills in particular negotiation
• Ability to build strong working relationships – internal and external
• Demonstrated personal initiative and ability to work effectively unsupervised whilst a member of a team
• Current Driver's Licence
• Proficiency in use of computers, document presentation and of Microsoft applications
Desirable
• Experience in volunteering in a community football environment
